Applications

Bringing together heterogeneous integration and nano sensor device technologies will catalyse a new level of performance. e-BRAINS investigates how these technologies can be successfully combined using the example of selected applications with considerable market potential. The applications will give a measure and validate the performance increase available due to heterogeneous integration. Substantial reduction in size, reduction in manufacturing cost, and increased sensitivity are typically targeted for the applications:
  • Smart Biosensor Grain (Magna Diagnostics)
  • Infrared Imager (Sensonor, SINTEF)
  • Active medical implants (Sorin, 3D Plus)
  • Smart Gas Sensors (Siemens)
  • Ultrasound imaging probes for volumetric (3D real time) scanning (Vermon)
